Humiliating Remarks By DHS Workers (Department of Horrible Services)

In Battle Creek
“You have nothing to say about what we do with your son.” This was by an unlicensed social worker. Then he was placed in a home where he learned to smoke meth.

In Ottawa County
“I could put you in an asylum for that statement.” By an unlicensed social worker to a mother whose child had just been taken away because she said “You might as well kill me as take my child.”

In Calhoun County
“We take whatever child we want to.” By an unlicensed social worker who took children away from a grandmother against whom there was no charge. She had asked what the charge was.

In Allegan County
“That’s at my discretion.” By an unlicensed social worker.

In Ottawa County: All from one social worker
“Apparently you don’t know the difference between what’s clean and what’s dirty”
“You need to take the filters off your eyes”
“I don’t believe you cleaned your carpet three weeks ago” By an unlicensed social worker to a busy mother with four small children, and as clean a house as could be expected.

Parents are told that if they argue or react they will lose their children. This is often no idle threat. The problem is that the people in charge have too much power (and malice) and too little intelligence or common sense.
